Expérience négative: Ne Faites Pas Mon Erreur. La pire expérience de toute ma vie ! Manque de respect ! Désordre ! Gaspillage d'énergie, de temps et d'argent ! J'ai dû le changer après 14 leçons de rien !
Expérience négative: I enrolled in this school to get a French driving licence and found it to be disorganised and expensive, and the instructor to be rude and aggressive. I purchased the package for people with a foreign licence (I have driven in my home country for more than 15 years), as it was much cheaper than the traditional formula (20 hours of lessons, which seems required by the government for novice drivers), however I ended up paying over double the original price because of hidden extras and inflexible rules. This formula provides 6 hours of driving lessons, which I understood to mean after completing 6 hours you would be able to take the exam, not so. The school will not book your official exam until the driving instructor gives the okay, which he will not do until you take a practice exam, which he will not give you until you’ve taken 11 hours of lessons. It was at this point that I had to switch instructors because he was so awful, I was yelled at for two hours nonstop every lesson, he frequently took the steering wheel from my hands so he could drive around cars in front that were going too slowly, and constantly used the horn at other drivers for small mistakes (which is very much illegal in France). Although I was repeatedly told I was a very good driver, I was not allowed to take the exam until I had completed 20 hours. I suspect this 6 hour option is an excellent way to convince foreigners to sign up to the school with the idea that they can take fewer lessons given they can already drive, and end up charging them (at 53 euros an hour!) for more lessons to reach the regular 20 hour minimum. You will also pay extra for ridiculous things like a plastic bag containing a single-use mask and hand sanitizer, and an inconsistent and out-of-date handbook of the code de la route. My other favourite part was constantly calling up to book lessons, being told the time and place, then the day before being left a voicemail of “oh sorry the instructor actually isn’t available, can you physically come in to the office this afternoon to book another lesson?” In the end I passed the exam with a near perfect score (perhaps I didn’t need those 20 hours after all), and could not recommend this school less.
